"Benefit of using MS. WORD."

Microsoft is a graphical word processing program that users can type with. It is made by the computer company Microsoft. The purpose of the MS Word is to allow the users to type and save documents. Similar to other word processors, it has helpful tools to make documents. Microsoft word, often called as word, carries with it a lot of benefits. Let’s discuss it in a little bit more detail.

It's the most popular word processing program in the world. One of the most obvious benefits is its availability. Almost all windows users install Microsoft suit in their computer system. It is available and used on all common computers. Microsoft word is used to save documents. The documents can be copied to flash drive which serves as an external memory for your computer. This allows you to use the saved documents conveniently taking with you anywhere.

Another important benefit which is gained from using Microsoft Word is it allows the users to make different formats in accordance with the need and importance. In addition to allowing you to create simple documents for business correspondence, it helps you greatly to create and design business cards, brochures, new letters and many more items that are needed. Besides, the use of fonts, shapes, clip art or smart art, charts has its own importance and value.

There are times when users need to integrate Microsoft Word with other programs as well, such as, using Excel tables, rows and columns or calculations. For example, if you have created a spreadsheet in Microsoft Excel and you want to display on your required document for a particular reason. You can do this easily by pasting the saved work sheet on the document. Similarly, PowerPoint can also be integrated with Microsoft Word for specific purposes. When working in slide sorter view of PowerPoint, miniature versions of the slides called thumbnails are shown. A thumbnail is the term used to describe a miniature version of a slide or picture.

In this way, converting a PowerPoint presentation to a word document will be easy. This allows you to provide handouts of the presentations to the audience.Although it may seem as the word cannot help you out to fix all grammatical errors and there are still things to be considered based on grammar and syntax, still it is worth using in terms of checking the spellings and focusing on punctuation. Spelling check feature in Microsoft word helps you to correct the spellings in your documents. In addition, you can fix the punctuation errors as well.

At this stage, it is important to mention that sometimes it is suggested differently from what grammatical structure you want to add in your document. It is therefore important to consider appropriately before you accept the suggested structure or punctuation in your document. An extremely important feature of Microsoft word which is very useful for various purposes is that it has Navigation pane at the top. It is a visual representation of many functions. It is where you can select different functions depending on your need and make use of it conveniently.

Nearly every profession in the world should have some use of Microsoft word. People who use Microsoft Word tend to have an easier time than those who lack this product. It helps in all the professional requirements relating to business correspondence by reducing the time and efforts and energy of the users to a great extent.

"Let's start with some amazing tricks and fact about Ms. Word."

1. MS Office First Debuted on Macintosh, Not Windows.

MS Office is one of the most popular Microsoft products of all time, in line with Windows. And the app suite is synonymous with the Windows operating system. But in truth, the Office suite first found its way on the Macintosh.

The reason was simple. Back in 1989, when MS Office first launched, Macintosh computers were more popular than Windows PCs and it was financially sound to launch the suite first for Macintosh. A year later MS Office found its way to Windows OS.

 2. The First Smartwatch Was Also Made by Microsoft.

Microsoft was a pioneering company in many fields but many of its ground-breaking products simply debuted too early. In other words, the company was ahead of times and the market usually just wasn’t ready for those products. Aside from the tablet PC, Microsoft also created the first smartwatch, way back in 1994. The watch was coproduced with Timex and was called Timex Datalink 150.It featured a tiny LCD and was able to connect with Windows PCs to download various data, such as appointments. The watch was also water-resistant up to 100 meters. But, as the tablet PC, smartwatch from Microsoft didn’t sell in large numbers.

 3. First OS Developed by the Company was Called XENIX.

While many think that Microsoft started its journey with its MS-DOS operating system, the truth is that there was another OS developed by the company that saw the light of day before MS-DOS. The name of that OS was XENIX. The OS was, in fact, a modified version of the UNIX operating system, developed by Bell Labs for AT&T in the early 1970s. Microsoft licensed UNIX from AT&T, created XENIX, and then licensed the OS to hardware vendors such as Intel and SCO.

4. Microsoft doesn’t sell software, it sells software licenses.

When you buy a disk with Windows 10, you don’t actually own the software on the disk. Instead, you own the license to use it and Microsoft can withdraw the license at any time. Microsoft doesn’t sell software at all and never sold it. Throughout the years it only sold software licenses. In other words, you can buy an indefinite license to use Windows or MS Word but you never own the software.

6. Create a Newspaper in Microsoft Word.

Start Word. Click the "Page Layout" tab. Click the "Size" button below the tab. Click the "More Paper Sizes" option. Enter the dimensions for the newspaper into the "Width" and "Height" boxes, such as "11" and "17" respectively. Keep in mind that most standard printers can only print 8.5 inches by 11 inches. Click the "OK" button.

Click the "Columns" button on the ribbon. Click the "Three" button. You won't see anything change on the Word document since there isn't text yet, but you will see the columns break into three on the small ruler stretching across the top of the Word document.

Click the "Insert" tab. Click the "Header" button and select the "Alphabet" option or whichever is your preference. You want to choose one with a line running along the bottom to serve as your masthead distinction.

Click into the "Type Text" section of the header. Type the name of the newspaper. Press the "Enter" key and type the date of the issue, volume number and any other details you desire.

Highlight the newspaper name text. Click the "Home" tab. Increase the font with the "Font size" menu and change the font if desired. Click the "Align Center" button to align the header in the center of the page.

Click the "Insert" tab again. Click the "Picture" button. Browse to a digital logo for the newspaper and double-click it, then drag it into place on the left or right side of the masthead. Check the "Different First Page" box on the green "Header & Footer Tools" tab's ribbon so the masthead only appears on the first page of the newspaper. Click the red "X" button, "Close Header and Footer," to close the masthead and return to the Word document.

Type the first article on the page, starting with the title, author's byline, city and state information. As you type, Word performs word wrapping in the columns and moves text to a new column when you come to the end of one.

Add pictures to the newspaper to go with the articles following the same process as importing a logo, by clicking the "Insert" tab's "Picture" button and browsing to and double-clicking the picture.

Click the "File" tab. Click "Save As." Type a name for the newspaper, with a version number if desired, such as CityNews08-21-2011, and click the "Save" button.

  • It allows to use a document page as a canvas and move geometric shapes, SmartArt objects, and symbols.
  • A logo created in Microsoft Word can be directly used on a letterhead.

Microsoft Word offers a stunning range of amazing fonts to create a logotype. Plus, you can make all kinds of creative choices, including pasting a text into different shapes, experimenting with WordArt objects, adding patterns, and playing around with textures and backgrounds. With due amount of inspiration and patience, you can craft an original emblem!

When it comes to designing a logo, there’s hardly a more convenient program for amateurs than Microsoft Word. By combining different shapes and words, you can end up with a pretty good corporate design.

9. Convert photo or text PDF into editable Word document.

The PDF (Portable Document Format) is the open standard, created by Adobe in the 1990s, for presenting documents so they look consistent across all platforms and software. DOC (or DOCX) is the format/file extension used mainly by Microsoft office for its word processing documents. The two aren't anywhere near compatible. The problem is that you can't open a DOC file with Adobe Reader (or any other free PDF reader like fox it and Sumatra). But in order to convert PDFs to Word format—which really just means editing a a PDF in Word—the related process is easy. As of Word 2013 (released in 2012), Microsoft has offered a function called PDF reflow . It does what you expect. In Word, you go to the File tab, select open, select any PDF File, and open it right up for editing, as if it was a Word DOCX file.

Here's a list from Microsoft of exactly what may not convert just right.

Tables with cell spacing , Page colors and page borders , Tracked changes , Frames , Footnotes that span more than one page , Endnotes , Audio, video, and PDF active elements , PDF bookmarks , PDF tags , PDF comments, Font effects, like Glow or Shadow , in the Word file, the effects are represented by graphics.

When you open a PDF in Word, you'll get this warning:

"Word will now convert your PDF to an editable Word document," it says. "This may take a while. The resulting Word document will be optimized to allow you to edit the text, so it might not look exactly like the original PDF, especially if the original file contained a lot of graphics." That said, the graphics get pulled in; they are easily editable as well. Saving a file from Word 2013 to PDF is as simple as doing a Save as from the File tab. You should check the boxes on the save dialog box that say "Open File After Publishing" to immediately view it. Conversion also works in Word Online, found at office online. You open a PDF in Word Online and it's viewable, but click the "Edit in Word" link and you'll see this:
